Each year, since 2005, our region hosts Earth Festival, an environmental awareness event at the Milford Central School, about 10 miles south of Cooperstown, NY. This is the one time of year when most of our local environmentally-focused organizations are together in the same room as a public awareness event. This year, the event takes place on Saturday, April 9th from 11am to 3pm.
The event has grown significantly over the years and includes around 40 vendors and exhibitors, workshops and seminars throughout the day, children’s activities and great food options and a number of specialty recycling options including a confidential document shredder service, clean styrofoam, textiles (shoes) and more. This year, there are yoga sessions that have been added to the event for both adults and children,to encourage healthy minds and bodies as a start to creating a healthy environment.
Complete information about the event can be found at http://bit.ly/1Rgd6DG with a full list of activities for the day that will be posted as the target date approaches. So – save the date and if you are in the area for the day, plan on making Earth Festival a destination for the day. Learn about what our local organizations are up to and maybe sign up to volunteer with a few of them. We hope to see you there!
