Revisiting the Cooperstown Beverage Trail
The Cooperstown area has a long history of involvement in the craft beverage industry. It was originally known as the hops growing capital of the world and we are now seeing farms dedicated to hops again over the last few years. Looking into some of the Cooperstown region’s highlights, we were reminded that the Cooperstown Beverage Trail is an ever expanding opportunity. While it was originally established with four beverage producers, it has grown to include eight establishments in our region that offer locally produced goods.
The eight properties on the beverage trail include:
- Brewery Ommegang
- Fly Creek Cider Mill & Orchard
- Bear Pond Winery
- Cooperstown Brewing Company
- Butternuts Beer & Ale
- Rustic Ridge Winery
- Cooperstown Distillery
- Pail Shop Vineyards
Over 20,000 visitor explored the 37 mile beverage trail last year, learning about production, sampling the wares, and visiting the specialty shops at each establishment.
If you are considering a trip on the beverage trail during your stay in the area, make sure you bring along the coupon page so that you can pick up a complementary gift at most locations, and bring along the form so that you can collect your stamp at each stop. When you complete the page, you can submit for a free Cooperstown Beverage Trail glass at any of the trail properties.
Participants in the beverage trail program must be 21 or older. There are local businesses available in our area that will help you with our transportation needs during the beverage trail tours, including Doubleday Drivers and Cooperstown Hop On Tours.
